The LWKY crew has been hard at work. We dropped our 2nd EP No Sleep back in September, followed that up with a Madonna remix in October, played a super dope live set in November, and now December is becoming the month of long awaited releases. A few weeks back we teamed up with Chicago director Garrick Peterson and started formulating an idea for a "live-esque" music video for Happy To Be Human. Once we had a concept, it didn't take long for us to link up with the Eight Cell homie Zpacely to dream up the live projected visualz. After a lot of hard work on everyones part, we are proud to present the first ever LWKY music video! Enjoy and as always if you dig it, share it!
Our good friends The Danes have just released a new single on their soundcloud. This new track is bit different from some of their previous stuff, but it has their signature vocal mastery and carries a unique blend of funk, rock, and creeping driving melodies. The new track is available for free download below via the soundcloud widget.
21 year old beat-wiz, Flume, is playing the Metro in Chicago on September 4th. If all goes expected, this show will be a true crusher and sell out soon. Flume is Australian-born Harley Streten, who started producing music with an elemental production suite CD found in a box of cereal. What's more is that he won a talent contest put on by a Syndey record label, finding himself signed and making a debut album that would go on to be platinum just five weeks after its release. Flume's music is best described as icy-cool summer car bangers, blending hip hop and slowed-down house rhythms that will surely shake your booty on September 4th at the Metro.

Ewokie Talkie is a man of many genre's. Through the years I've watched him develop from experimental garage rock, to hip hop, to glitch, to sounds that can't even be classified. This talented young producer has been someone I have looked up to from a pretty young age, going all the way back to our middle school days when he was a grade ahead of me. I watched as he chased his passion for sounds and melodies when it wasn't the cool thing to do, and I appreciated when he took the time to explain to me what Ableton Live & MIDI controllers were, many years ago. Now he has performed in countless venues across the midwest and is one of the hardest working musicians I know. He has recently started playing shows in Chicago with the hometown crew Push Beats and is setting his sights on claiming more real estate across the region. His latest collaboration is a smooth undulating D&B effort with Chicago beat maker Nunca Duerma. It walks a narrow line between intensity and relaxation and is sure to have you nodding your head. Peep the new Track below via SoundCloud, and be sure to give Ewokie Talkie and Nunca Duerma a like on Facebook.
